There are two main sources that produce the Montecristo cigars today and they are one in Cuba by Habanos SA and the other in the Dominican Republic by Altadis SA. Cuban cigars are illegal in the US therefore the only Montecristo cigars you will get will be the one made in the Dominic Republic.

During the years due to its huge success around the world there are a number of different types, shapes and sizes of Montecristo cigars that were created and they are: the hand rolled Cuban Montecristos are No 1 through No 5 made in different sizes, Especial No1 and No 2; Joyita, Tubo, Petit Tubo and Edmundo. Limited edition Montecristos are: Double Corona and Robusto in 2001, C in 2003, D in 2005 and Robusto in 2006. Special Edition of the Montecristo cigar was the Millennium Reserve Robusto (or Rothschild) and B. Montecristo cigars can also be found in mini series under the following brands: the Mini, The Club and the Purito.
